Chapter eighteen

Six p.m. couldn’t come fast enough. As soon as Greyson pulled into his driveway, I set a twenty-minute timer and paced in my living room, waiting for it to tick down. Twenty minutes seemed like a good time to decompress and shake off the day, right? That was about the time it took for me, anyway.

The second my phone vibrated, I silenced it and headed over to Greyson’s.

Like always, Greyson was already leaning against the doorway with a smug smile as I sprinted up the stairs. I realized a second too late that I should have worn something else, but after the gym and Monica’s ambush, I’d come home, showered, and threw on the first comfy thing I could find—a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. And of course, Greyson stood in the door looking like he’d walked out of the pages of a J.Crew catalog.

“Good evening,” he said as I opened the screen door, apparently not as put out by my shabby appearance as I was. Then again, if things went according to plan, neither of us would be in clothes for much longer.

“Too soon? Should I come back?”

“Don’t be ridiculous. How was your shift?”

“Fine. How was your day?”

“It was fine,” he replied with a sly smile that acknowledged we were both dancing around the reason I was there. To be fair, I’d never scheduled sex before. Usually it just kind of… happened.

Not wanting to waste any more time or give myself a chance to fuck it all up, I seized his face between my hands and kissed him hard. He melted against me with a muffled moan. I pressed him back against the doorframe, trying to eliminate all of the space between us without crushing him under my weight.

Greyson wrapped his arms around my neck, pulling me closer while his pelvis pushed against mine. My stomach spasmed with a little loop-de-loop. He was already hard.

Tearing his mouth free, he panted out, “Bedroom,” and promptly resumed kissing me to the point of distraction.

After a moment, I forced myself away from him. A bedroom was a much better place for this, not standing in his foyer with the door still open, where anyone could see us. Palming my hard-on through my sweats, I cut across to the stairs and made my way up.

Closing the door, Greyson followed after me, as silent as a cat with bare feet.

As soon as we were in the bedroom, I turned to face him, ready to devour him again. I’d barely managed one kiss before he shoved me backward onto the bed with a surprising strength.

Laughing and thrilled he was as eager as I was, I scooted backward, reclining against the headboard.

He crawled onto the bed, making his way up my legs to straddle my lap. Peeling off my t-shirt, he tossed it to the side and ran his hands down my chest, biting his lower lip.

I promptly ripped the hem of his button-up out of his pants. “I don’t know why you wear so many layers.
